The Power of Art in Creating Change
Written by Ria Kumar
I think art is way more powerful than people realize. It’s not just drawings or music for fun, it can actually change how people think about important issues. When someone creates art about something happening in the world, it can make others stop and pay attention. It can make them think twice about what is really important in life.
For example, music during the Civil Rights Movement helped bring people together. Artists like Bob Dylan wrote songs that inspired people to stand up for what they believed in. Today, people use murals, digital art, and even videos on social media platforms like TikTok to spread messages about equality and mental health.
I think art makes change because it connects to emotions. When you see a powerful photo or hear a meaningful song, it can hit you in a different way than just reading facts. It helps people understand each other better. It helps us connect on a more creative level.
Overall, art gives people a voice. Even as students, we can use art to express what we care about and maybe even inspire others to care too.
